The Thomaston Savings Bank Foundation is donating a total of $30,000 in grants to three nonprofit agencies.

The donations are part of the foundation’s Act to Impact Employee Giving Campaign, with bank employees deciding how to award grant money.

The campaign was established as a way to allow employees to further connect with their community.

“A giving campaign is only as strong as the employees who support it,” said Thomaston Savings Bank AVP and community outreach officer Cheryl Lindstrom.

“It was wonderful to see the response and enthusiasm from the bank’s team during the selection process.”

This year, the campaign selected organizations in Hartford, Litchfield, and New Haven counties, the counties that Thomaston Savings Bank serves.

Organizations

Brian’s Angels Homeless Outreach, Inc. in Bristol, Safe Haven of Greater Waterbury, Inc. in Waterbury, and Susan B. Anthony Project, Inc. in Torrington were each awarded $10,000 grants.

“They chose three tremendously worthy organizations who will be using these funds to continue to serve the most vulnerable among us,” Lindstrom said.

Brian’s Angels is a homeless outreach organization that provides items including toiletries, food, clothing, and temporary shelter.

Safe Haven of Greater Waterbury offers support, counseling and advocacy for domestic violence and sexual assault victims.

Susan B. Anthony Project provides crisis and support services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Susan B. Anthony Project executive director Jeanne Fusco said the money will help them assure there are no interruptions in service to their clients.

“Thomaston Savings Bank, its foundation, and employees have been incredibly supportive of survivors of domestic and sexual violence and its prevention,” Fusco said.
