HB 5125 an act concerning entertainment event tickets
This bill (1) specifies the circumstances in which a ticket reseller may enter into a contract with, or accept consideration from, a purchaser for the resale of a ticket to an entertainment event, (2) establishes and modify various requirements concerning the sale or resale of a ticket to an entertainment event by way of an Internet web site or online technology platform, (3) defines various terms concerning tickets to entertainment events, and (4) requires a ticket seller or reseller to provide a refund for a cancelled live entertainment event.
SB 5127 an act concerning medical credit cards
Prohibits health care providers and veterinary care providers from promoting, offering, or assisting consumers in obtaining medical credit cards, and from receiving any financial incentives tied to such cards. The bill also bars providers from charging any credit card for services before they are rendered, or for services that the provider knows or reasonably should know are covered by insurance, Medicare, or HUSKY Health. In addition, providers could only charge for ancillary products if the consumer gives separate written consent, with most such products subject to a 30‑day return and full refund requirement. Violations would constitute unfair trade practices enforceable solely by the Attorney General. Amended by the House.
HB 5128 an act concerning direct-to-consumer genetic testing
This bill (1) provides that a consumer has a property right in, and retains the right to exercise exclusive control over, (A) any biological sample that is derived from the consumer's body and provided to, or used by, a direct-to-consumer genetic testing company, and (B) the results of any genetic testing conducted on the consumer's DNA by a direct-to-consumer genetic testing company, and (2) specifies various duties and limitations applicable to direct-to-consumer genetic testing companies.
