SB 118 an act concerning baby food products and toxic heavy metals
Prohibits the manufacture, sale, distribution or offering for sale of, and requires testing, disclosures, and reporting concerning, baby food products containing toxic heavy metals starting on Jan. 1, 2027.
SB 119 an act concerning used motor vehicle warranties
Provides that (1) a dealer selling a used motor vehicle that is less than 10 years of age shall not exclude, modify, disclaim or limit an implied warranty on the vehicle, (2) each contract entered into by a dealer for the sale of any such used motor vehicle to a consumer shall include an express warranty that the vehicle is mechanically sound and will remain so for at least 60 days or 3,000 miles of operation, whichever occurs first, and (3) a used motor vehicle may be sold "as is" by a dealer only if the vehicle is 10 years of age or older.
SB 125 an act restricting private equity ownership of nursing homes
Increases oversight of nursing home ownership by requiring facilities to disclose detailed ownership and financial information to the Connecticut Department of Social Services, including audited financial statements and financing arrangements. It also requires certain investor-owned facilities to maintain a performance bond equal to 90 days of operating costs and restricts the sale of nursing home property within five years without approval from the Connecticut Department of Public Health. CBIA opposes. JF to Senate Floor APP on 4/20. Awaiting action by the Senate.
SB 131 an act concerning manufacturing
Looks at ways to improve the manufacturing ecosystem through targeted tax credits and workforce development initiatives for small businesses that currently do not qualify for research and development tax credits.
