CBIA Survey Finds More Connecticut Companies Going Green
Faced with increasing costs, a lingering recession and increased global competition, more Connecticut companies are embracing sustainable business practices and reaping the benefits.
According to the Connecticut Business & Industry Association’s 3rd annual Sustainability and Connecticut Business Survey, companies today are adapting to new realities including consumers’ demands for sustainable products and services. IBM Sharpens Focus on Business and Battery Efficiency
IBM launches two initiatives today that aim to make businesses, energy grids and lithium ion batteries more efficient.
The first involves the creation of the Green Sigma Coalition to integrate IBM’s Green Sigma consulting service with the products and services of several big-name partners. Xerox Voted Top Green Outsourcer in 2009 Green Outsourcing Survey
A report published by The Brown-Wilson group positions Xerox as the top ranking green outsourcer. This report explores how new economic dimensions are impacting the growth of the sustainability technology sector. Xerox is ranked “greenest” in the Document Process Outsourcing area by its clients, which is not too surprising. The criteria used included sustainability metrics, social and economic principles, environmental principles, LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating system, and Six Sigma. State gets $15.4m in Stimulus Funds for Energy Projects
The U.S. Department of Energy said Wednesday it released $15.4 million in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding to support energy efficiency and renewable energy projects in Connecticut.
The money will be used as part of Connecticut's State Energy Program to expand fuel cell initiatives, help homeowners and businesses reduce energy costs with alternative technologies, improve the efficiency of state-owned buildings and create green-collar jobs, Gov.
