Spectrum Partners on Stamford Workforce Development Initiative

Stamford-based Spectrum is joining a partnership to launch a new workforce development initiative aimed at creating opportunities for job seekers.

The company is partnering with the city of Stamford, the Stamford Partnership and dae to launch the Stamford Tech Hub.

As part of the initiative, Spectrum will offer learners of all skill levels free technology training. 

The training includes a one-day digital immersion program, a three-week tech career exploration program, and six-month tech career readiness course.

The goal is to connect with local jobseekers and help them develop the skills needed to grow in technology-focused jobs.

Workorce Training

Spectrum has committed $5 million over 10 years to support the initiative.

 “As a leading U.S. connectivity provider with 1,800 employees based in Stamford, we understand the importance of a highly skilled workforce and the Stamford Tech Hub will help develop those future leaders, foster innovation and further support the city’s economic growth,” said Spectrum CHRO Paul Marchand.

State and city leaders celebrated the launch of Tech Hub at Charter Communications headquarters in Stamford.

Officials said the Stamford Partnership played an instrumental role in shaping initiative.

dae will lead the effort to ensure participants will gain skills they need to match industry demand. 

“I am grateful for the collaboration between Charter Communications, the Stamford Partnership, dae, and our local workforce leaders as we work together to expand economic opportunity and prepare Stamford’s workforce for the future,” said Stamford mayor Caroline Simmons.

The first wave of training programs will begin in early April.
