AVANGRID’s president and CEO Catherine Stempien is the keynote speaker for CBIA’s May 19 2022 When Women Lead conference in Plantsville.

As the company’s first female leader, Stempien will discuss her experience climbing the ladder, from her career as an attorney with a multinational telecommunications company to leading a major utility company.

As founder and CEO of the Women’s Business Development Council, Fran Pastore is devoted to creating a strong entrepreneurial ecosystem for women in Connecticut.

Pastore will steer attendees through a critical conversation with state lawmakers as they tackle workforce challenges head-on.

State representatives Tammy Exum (D-West Hartford) and Tammy Nuccio (R-Ashford) and state senators Christine Cohen (D-Branford) and Heather Somers (R-Mystic) will be candid, sharing their personal leadership journeys.

With a new attention to mental health at companies across the country, licensed clinical social worker and TEDx featured speaker Jelan Agnew of the Copper Beech Institute will share strategies for self preservation in the office and beyond.

Jackson Labs’ Lisa Roy, Westminster Tool’s Hillary Thomas, and Hartford Public High School principal Flora Padro will engage you as they discuss paving the way for other women to find meaningful careers in science, technology, engineering, and math.

The conference kicks off at 7:30 am at the Aqua Turf Club with a networking breakfast. The program will run promptly from 8:30 to noon.

When Women Lead is made possible through the generous support of AVANGRID and Oma’s Pride.
