What’s in Your Plan?

A recent study found that 57% of small businesses in the U.S. had no disaster recovery plan.

That will be of small comfort when the next superstorm, hurricane–or even microburst–hits.

Ninety-mile-an-hour winds blew into Connecticut on one warm day this past June, in a matter of minutes taking down trees and power lines, blocking roads, and leaving thousands of homes and businesses in the dark.

Maybe you were spared the worst, but if that kind of disruption happens to your business, will you know what to do?

Our latest storm was a “only” a microburst, but experts say this year could produce some major headaches: possibly 11 named storms, six of them hurricanes, and two as powerful as Category 3 or higher.

The Governor’s Economic Recovery Working Group wants all Connecticut businesses to be prepared, so is hosting a timely and informative webinar on Wednesday, August 26.

The free program will feature property insurance experts on the steps you can take before and after a catastrophic event that will help your business not only navigate, but survive, and potentially thrive in the aftermath of a disaster.

The Disaster Preparedness webinar  will take place on Wednesday, August 26,  starting at 10 am. Registration is free, but required.

Panelists will include Jeb McPherson, CPA, CFF, FCPA, senior consultant and FEMA project leader for Marsh Risk Consulting's Forensic Accounting and Claims Services; Brett Gillmon, managing director, US Property Practice, Marsh USA Inc.
