Acquisition of FirstLight Power Completed
GDF SUEZ Energy North America has announced the completion of the acquisition of CBIA member and Hartford-based FirstLight Power Enterprises Inc. from Energy Capital Partners. FirstLight Powers owns and operates 16 power generation facilities in Connecticut and Massachusetts. The acquisition makes GDF Suez Energy North America the fifth-largest electricity generator in New England. In September, a French newspaper reported the deal was worth $1.9 billion. Xerox Says New Toner Cuts Digital Printing Devices’ Power 15-30%
Xerox Corp.’s announced it will be installing six 25,000 gallon tanks at its EA toner plant in Webster, N.Y. The installations are preparation for the production of Ultra Low-Melt EA Toner, which the company says can cut overall power consumption of digital printing devices by 15 percent to 30 percent. The Webster plant is expected to start producing the Ultra Low-Melt EA Toners sometime next year, according to Eduard Langlois, project manager for the Xerox Consumables, Development and Manufacturing Group.
