2026 Safety & Health Conference

ABOUT THIS EVENT

This program was approved for 3 HRCI and SHRM credits.

CBIA’s March 4 Safety & Health Conference focused on workplace safety, compliance, and practical strategies to protect your workforce.

We kicked off the day with a session on noise-induced hearing loss, exploring one of the most overlooked workplace hazards.

Attendees learned how to conduct noise surveys, implement effective hearing conservation programs, and select the right PPE to prevent injuries.

Other topics included:

  • Drugs and Alcohol in the Workplace: We addressed the challenges employers face with impairment, ADA compliance, and evolving state marijuana laws. Participants explored how to craft policies that protect safety while respecting employee rights.
  • Accident Investigation and Workers’ Compensation Management: We covered the full life cycle of workplace injuries. Experts guided attendees through compliant accident investigations, effective claims management, and strategies to prevent future incidents.
  • Active Shooter Preparedness: Practical guidance on emergency planning, situational awareness, and real-world response to critical incidents in the workplace.

The afternoon OSHA training session, a hands-on, in-depth course designed for safety managers, HR professionals, and business leaders, detailed current standards, inspection readiness, and practical strategies to implement and enforce safety programs across your organization.
