Amazon Announces Seasonal Hiring, Expanded Benefits

With the busy holiday shopping season approaching, Amazon announced it is hiring about 4,500 employees in Connecticut to handle the demand.
The jobs are part of Amazon’s plan to hire more than 300,000 seasonal, part-time, and full-time workers across its U.S. core operations network this holiday season.
In Connecticut, the company said about 2,000 of the jobs will be in the Hartford area, with another 2,000 across the New Haven area.
Amazon also announced that it will extend healthcare coverage to seasonal employees beginning Jan. 1, 2027.
Those working at least 30 hours a week will become eligible for coverage already offered to full-time employees, with plans starting at $5 a week.
Benefits
“We’re glad to be welcoming thousands of new teammates this season,” said said Amazon principal for economic development in New England Jonathan Greeley.
“There’s always a special energy across our Connecticut operations around the holidays.”
In September, Amazon raised the average wage for seasonal employees to $20 an hour.
