Terminating workers can be one of the hardest parts of managing a business and its people. You hope to never have to do it, but it’s often impossible to avoid. 

Many employers are reluctant to fire poor performing employees because they fear an inevitable lawsuit. 

Others make spontaneous, emotional firing decisions, believing that Connecticut’s status as an at-will state will protect them from litigation. The truth lies somewhere in between.
