JPMorgan Chase Commercial Banking Market executive Matt McSpedon was elected Dec. 8 to chair the board of directors of CBIA, Connecticut’s largest business organization.

McSpedon [pictured above, center], who works with Connecticut and Mid-Hudson companies through JPMorgan Chase’s Middle Market Banking and Specialized Industries business, succeeds Rina Patel, vice president of operations multi-site with RSCC Wire & Cable in East Granby.

The board also elected two vice chairs: Kevin Grigg [pictured above, right], president of Manchester-based Fuss & O’Neill; and Marietta Lee [pictured above, left], chief operating officer, general counsel, and corporate secretary with The Lee Company in Westbrook.

“I look forward to working with CBIA’s outstanding board of directors and staff as we advance policy solutions that will transform Connecticut for the long term,” McSpedon said today.

“By lowering the costs of living and running a business, implementing pathways to rewarding careers, and leveraging the state’s many strengths,” McSpedon continued, “we can open doors to opportunity for all communities and residents.”

‘Developing Solutions’

CBIA president and CEO Chris DiPentima thanked Patel for “her inspiring leadership and commitment over the past year.”

“We are very fortunate that Rina was such an engaged chair, always pushing our organization to new heights as we addressed the state’s post-pandemic challenges,” DiPentima said.

“Matt McSpedon’s broad knowledge and experience will be critical as we continue developing solutions to address the labor shortage, grow our economy, and create opportunities for all residents.”

Lee was one of 10 directors elected by CBIA’s membership to the organization’s board last month:

  • Andrew Bologna, Partner, Assurance Services, EY
  • Louis Gallo, SVP, Commercial Banking Market Executive, Wells Fargo
  • Jason Guyot, President and CEO, Foxwoods Resort Casino

  • Michael LaBella, Connecticut Market President, TD Bank
  • Susan Martinelli, Hartford Office Leader, RSM US LLP
