WBDC Launches New Ignite Grant Funding Feb. 3

The next round of the Women’s Business Development Council’s Ignite Grant Program will open Feb. 3, with applications due no later than March 18.
The program is designed to help women-owned businesses grow, offering grants of up to $10,000 to eligible firms.
Connecticut women-owned businesses that have been in operation for two or more years, with annual revenues between $25,000 and $2 million, are eligible to apply.
The grant funds cannot be used towards operating expenses (e.g. inventory, marketing expenses, salaries), real estate improvements (e.g. construction costs), reimbursement for past purchases or debt repayment.
Applicants are required to have invested at least $2,500 into their business in the last 12 months, unless located in a distressed municipality.
Formerly known as the equity match grant, the program has distributed more than $3.3 million through 365 grants since its inception.
Beginning Feb. 3, WBDC will host a series of weekly one-hour informational webinars to assist prospective applicants with their applications.
