“Building things:” Troy Industrial Solutions’ Tyler Slomkowski.

Getting young people excited about electric motors, pumps, and conveyor equipment is a challenge for Tyler Slomkowski and his team at Troy Industrial Solutions

But for the veteran, the past six years with the company has been filled with growth and learning new things.

“It’s a really exciting industry,” Slomkowski said.

“It’s building things, it’s bringing things back to life, it’s making sure things are running, critical things people need.”

Family Owned

The family owned, full-service electromechanical sales and service company recently celebrated 160 years in business.

Headquartered in New York, Troy’s Connecticut division is seeing growth under Slomkowski’s leadership as service center manager.

“We’re small enough that everybody knows each other,” he said.

“It’s building things, it’s bringing things back to life, it’s making sure things are running, critical things people need.”

“There are personal relationships between management and everyday employees so I truly enjoy that.”

Slomkowski said he enjoys visiting manufacturers across Connecticut and creating relationships with their teams to help them solve problems.

“We deal with a lot of customers either on site or in our shop, rebuilding, remanufacturing, and getting things back to the way they used to be,” he said.

“I like that I get to go see different people every day.”
