State Rep. Bryan Hurlburt (D-Tolland) resigned on Friday from the General Assembly to become executive director of the federal Farm Service Agency’s Connecticut office.
He has represented the 53rd House District, which includes Ashford, Tolland and Willington, since 2007.
A special election will be held in June, probably after the legislature adjourns at midnight on June 5.
The governor has 10 days from the resignation to order an election to take place 46 days afterward. No candidates have yet announced for the special election.
