October is Manufacturing Month and Manufacturing Day is Friday, October 5, 2018.
On this day, thousands of manufacturers around the country open their doors to their communities to celebrate modern manufacturing and open minds to the careers this exciting industry provides, meant to inspire the next generation of manufacturers and workers.
CBIA, CONNSTEP, and other manufacturing organizations are supporting and promoting Manufacturing Day in Connecticut.

How can you and your company participate?

Host a tour, school event, jobs fair, or product expo—just make sure that manufacturing is the main focus and be sure to invite to students, parents, educators, elected officials, and other community stakeholders.
Here are some options to help you decide on the type of event that best works for you.
This most important thing is to register your event with the National Association of Manufacturers. Help with the registration process is available too.
Here are some other activities CBIA and CONNSTEP have planned for the month.

  • CBIA and other manufacturing organizations will organize the the 2nd annual World’s Largest Manufacturing Happy Hour, at a brewery near you, on the evening of October 5. Stay tuned to our Facebook page for a list of participating breweries.
  • CBIA along with several other organizations, will be hosting the 4th Annual Greater Hartford Mini Maker Faire on the grounds of the Old State House in Hartford on Saturday, October 6.
  • On October 26, CBIA will hosts its annual manufacturing conference at the Trumbull Marriott. This conference will have industry leaders discussing manufacturing trends and topics.
