The Israel-U.S. Binational Industrial Research and Development Foundation hosts an informational forum Feb. 21 for companies interested in extending their global reach.
The program features Inon Elroy, Israeli Economic Minister to North America. He’ll detail the U.S. and Israel success story.
Other speakers include: Michael Bloom, Jewish Federal Association of Connecticut; Yehuda Yaakov, Consul General of Israel to New England; and Andrea Yanach, BIRD Foundation.
Attendees will learn more about the BIRD Foundation, and how to access funds and their matchmaker efforts. The program runs from 10 am to 11:30 am in the Old Judiciary Room at the State Capitol.
The BIRD Foundation’s mission is to stimulate, promote and support industrial research and development of mutual benefit to the U.S. and Israel.
Established by the U.S. and Israeli governments in 1977, the foundation generates mutually beneficial cooperation between companies from both countries, including start-ups and established organizations.
BIRD provides both matchmaking support as well as funding covering up to 50% of project development costs, up to $1 million per project. BIRD takes no equity in the companies.
BIRD supports approximately 20 projects annually. The cumulative sales of products developed through BIRD projects exceed $10 billion.
