Located in Northford with a workforce of 37, John’s Refuse and Recycling is a family-owned business, hauling waste and recyclables since 1963. They just celebrated their 50th anniversary.

Owner Andy Bozzuto manages a number of renewable energy and waste eliminating programs, including a subsidiary called Global Environmental Services, which collects food waste and yard trimmings to be composted. In addition, he owns an organic farm with his brothers, who are also involved in the business.

Did you know?

Bozzuto is enthusiastic about reusing resources, so much so that he had his company’s driveway made mostly out of discarded roof shingles!
