1988 

How many employees work for your company? 

Less than 10  

Who are your customers? 

NEMT specializes in the design and construction of high-precision CNC grinding machines, control systems, and custom automation solutions. 

Manufacturers in medical devices, automotive, industrial tools, optical, and other general manufacturing industries. 

What makes your company unique? 

NEMT’s advanced CNC grinders stand out for their ability to automate and precisely control grinding processes, ensuring exceptional quality and repeatability producing critical parts with tight tolerances across batches.  

We work in close collaboration with our customers taking a consultative approach to custom build highly automated machines tailored to specific applications where surface finish, complex geometries, and micron-level accuracy are paramount to enhance productivity and competitiveness. 

What is a fun fact about your business or its history? 

Some of the high precision grinders that we built and deployed more than 30 years ago are still going strong and churning out high-quality parts in production for a customer here in Connecticut.  

Why did you choose Connecticut? 

We have an exceptional and talented team who are rooted in Connecticut and understand the machines and customer applications intimately. 

What is the greatest advantage to operating in Connecticut? 

A strong and deep ecosystem especially around advanced manufacturing that continues to thrive. 

How do you try to give back to your community?  

Our team members continue to support local initiatives to grow and nurture the talent of the future. 

Where do you see your company in five years? Ten years? 

In the company years, we hope to solidify and grow our presence in the U.S. and global CNC high-precision grinder market, particularly in niche, high-precision applications building on our strengths in customization, automation, and affordability.  

We also will look to continue to invest in artificial intelligence, IoT, robotics, and advanced grinding and hybrid manufacturing capabilities. 

What is the main thing policymakers could implement to make your company more competitive? 

Policymakers can support technology adoption and industry 4.0 integration including subsidize advanced equipment, funding research and development, offer equipment modernization incentives, strengthen workforce development for advanced manufacturing and automation, encourage regional clusters among suppliers, and customers in this space, prioritize U.S-made equip and SMEs.
