What makes your company unique?
We get so entrenched in our client’s financial and personal lives, we become an extension of the family and a trusted advisor to the business.
What is a fun fact about your business or its history?
My grandfather, Sal Amenta, a successful businessman in his own right, was instrumental in my decision to enter into the financial planning industry.
I jumped in when the industry was still dealing with the after effects of 9/11.
Why did you choose Connecticut?
I was born in Newington. I am a big believer in Connecticut’s value proposition and competitiveness.
What is the greatest advantage to operating in Connecticut?
In our industry, the number of closely-held businesses in need of exit and succession planning is an advantage to operating in Connecticut.
The state also has a very well educated populace.
How do you try to give back to your community?
With as much time as I can. I serve as a trustee, board member, and committee member to a number of organizations.
Philanthropy is in my DNA and has long been taught to me from my role models, especially my father and grandfather.
Where do you see your company in five years? Ten years?
We expect to double in size in five years in terms of households we work with, employee count, and assets under advisement.
What is the main thing policymakers could implement to make your company more competitive?
The property tax environment in Connecticut is an ongoing challenge for our business.
