In honor of Small Business Week, CBIA will profile small business members this week that are making a difference in their communities and the communities were they do business.

Wolff, CMC, AMS Planning & Research Corp., an international arts management consultancy, has supported the development of more than $7 billion in arts facilities across North America and has worked with hundreds of producing, presenting and industry service organizations nationally and internationally.

AMS was established with a deep commitment to the role of the arts in communities and is dedicated to working with arts and community leaders to develop and operate ventures that are effective and vital. AMS Founder and Principal, Steven Wolff says, “It is a privilege to be involved with so many communities that recognize the arts and culture as integral to success and competitiveness. AMS has assisted on projects across the state level that have helped to revitalize Waterbury’s Palace Theatre, New Haven’s Shubert Theater, the Westport Country Playhouse, East Haddam’s Goodspeed Opera house, and New Canaan’s Town Players, as well as having helped guide the CT Commission on Culture & Tourism’s strategic planning efforts. We continue our local activity with current projects that assist in promoting arts and cultural vitality in New Haven and re-using Cheshire’s historic Ball & Socket factory as an arts facility.

Nationally and overseas, AMS has contributed our expertise to the development of some our nation’s most prominent performing arts centers including Miami’s Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, Dallas’s AT&T Performing Arts Center, and the Smith Center for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas. AMS recently guided efforts in Orlando to realize the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, and we’re currently working with Salt Lake County to implement the George S. and Dolores DorÌ© Eccles Theater.

The most critical part of AMS’s work is recognizing the cooperation and coordination required to effectively advance an organization’s mission, which is first and foremost, serving people; maximizing public value and enhancing vital communities.
