Green STEP (Sustainability Technical Education Program) is an Energize Connecticut collaborative for Connecticut technical high school students in the construction career cluster that’s designed to prepare them for green-industry jobs.

Three milestones per year for four years bridge concepts of sustainability, energy efficiency, renewables, and green building.

Students will bring the sustainable building and technology concepts they learn in the classroom into the field, where they will work with industry experts.

Career Tech students will:

  • Develop a foundation for sustainable building
  • Complete industry-recognized certification programs
  • Gain awareness of career options in the green industry
  • Be positioned for employment or higher education

The Green STEP program is a partnership of EnergizeCT, the Connecticut Technical High School System, Eversource, the United Illuminating Company, and the CBIA Education & Workforce Partnership.

The program is funded by a grant from Eversource and United Illuminating.
