Issues & Policies

Building a sustainable opportunity economy that emphasizes affordability, meaningful careers, and a positive business climate!

By signing the ReimagineCT pledge, Iโ€™m supporting policy solutions that reimagine Connecticut’s workforce, economy, and quality of life to build an opportunity economy that emphasizes affordability, meaningful careers, and a positive business climate.

I support each of the following policies, developed with the input and engagement of a diverse group of stakeholders from around Connecticut, including business, nonprofit, education, and community leaders.

These solutions will help retain and attract residents, enhance and protect our workforceโ€™s well-earned reputation for innovation and productivity, and promote the state as a high-value destination for businesses large and small.

Connecticutโ€™s economic opportunities are limitlessโ€”ReimagineCT opens doors to opportunity for all communities and residents, addressing the high costs of living and running a business, expanding career pathways, fostering innovation, and growing a vibrant economy.

Policy Solutions

  • Allow small businesses access to affordable, high-quality health insurance options for employees
  • Overhaul workforce apprenticeship hiring ratios to boost manufacturing and trades job growth.
  • Align graduation and school accountability index requirements to focus on career readiness and provide new paid internship opportunities.
  • Implement first-time homebuyer tax incentives.
  • Continue to support childcare initiatives to expand access and affordable options for working parents.
  • Restore the pass-through entity tax credit to its original level, reducing costs for 123,000 small businesses.
  • Encourage research and development growth by increasing the tax credit value rate to 100%.
  • Streamline state and local permitting by automating processes, enforcing permit review timelines, and providing online status tracking.
  • Leverage councils of governments to share services and take advantage of federal grant opportunities to reduce property taxes.
  • Increase civil justice transparency through third-party litigation funding reform.

I think that a transportation system that works well, should be added to this list.
i think fixing traffic conditions should be added to the ReimagineCT agenda
Traffic conditions continually get worst. It’s my opinion that the DOT is asleep at the wheel, more roads/highways are needed. It’s a difficult problem to solve, someone with great vision and a strong will is needed.

The number of wasted hours sitting in traffic results in a significant loss in productivity and lost hours that could be spend with family.
    loss of productivity impacts costs.
loss of family time, impacts everything
