Employer's Guide to Working with Schools

Bridging the gap between employer expectations and education outcomes requires that businesses get involved. Many CBIA member companies are doing just that in their own communities, and you can too. Here's how:

• host a company visit or plant tour for schools
• sponsor a teacher externship at your facility
• facilitate employee-student job shadowing or mentoring programs
• set up student internships

 

You can also strengthen your relationship with schools by

• volunteering, donating supplies or equipment, and participating in school fundraisers
• arranging for guest speakers from your company to visit classrooms and participate in job/career fairs
• becoming a corporate sponsor of various educational programs
