Career Exploration in the Classroom
Teachers throughout Connecticut are helping young people develop the skills, knowledge, and desire to become good citizens and productive members of society. As they strengthen students' academic competencies, they build their confidence, preparing them for meaningful work in any number of industries.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics' 2008 Career Guide to Industries, some of Connecticut's fastest-growing industries offer many of the most rewarding careers, inncluding positions in health and biosciences, engineering, energy, and green technology.
To ensure that our state remains competitive and its economy and quality of life stay strong, CBIA's Education Foundation works with employers to identify workforce shortage and growth areas and provides middle- and high-school teachers with the tools to help students explore careers in those fields.
