Pursuit Aerospace is expanding its reach deeper into the aerospace supply chain.

The Manchester-based manufacturer announced it completed its acquisition of Leesta Industries, a Montreal-area manufacturer specializing in flight-safety-critical aeroengine components.

The deal marks Pursuit’s fifth acquisition since the company was founded in 2023.

“Leesta represents a highly strategic addition to Pursuit Aerospace that aligns closely with our growth priorities,” Pursuit Aerospace CEO Doug Folsom said.

“This acquisition expands our component offerings on several key Pratt & Whitney engine platforms, deepens the technical capabilities of our aeroengine machining operations, and creates additional opportunities to leverage Pursuit’s integrated forging and casting capabilities.”

The move is designed to broaden the company’s capabilities across aeroengine platforms—an important aspect of Connecticut’s aerospace ecosystem, where suppliers play a critical role in supporting OEMs.

Folsom said Leesta is a trusted partner to leading aerospace companies.

Its roots date back to 1964 in the basement of Ernest H. Staub’s Montreal-area home.

The company focuses on machining complex components used in both commercial and military aircraft engines.

The addition of Leesta strengthens Pursuit’s position across the aeroengine value chain, particularly as demand grows for advanced manufacturing capabilities, automation, and precision machining.

It also gives the company a foothold in the Montreal aerospace cluster.

Leesta leadership said the deal positions both companies for long-term growth.

“Partnering with Pursuit Aerospace creates exciting new opportunities for both our customers and our employees,” Leesta president and CEO Ernest Staub, Jr. said.

“I am confident Pursuit’s scale, broad capabilities and commitment to manufacturing excellence will support Leesta’s continued growth and success for years to come.”
