Bradley Airport Explores New International Routes
Bradley International Airport officials are exploring new route possibilities, including nonstop service to London Heathrow.
The Connecticut Airport Authority is working with the Metro Hartford Alliance to assess business demand for the London route.
CAA executive director Kevin Dillon expects the expansion effort, which “is very early in the process,” to be a multi-year effort.
“A lot of it is dependent on how much the local corporate community is willing to commit,” he told CT Insider.
“When you talk to airlines about routes, it’s really the business travel that becomes the mainstay of any particular route.
”There is always a desire on the part of airlines, to see those business class and first class tickets sold. That’s why it becomes important to understand that business component.”
Business Survey
MetroHartford Alliance president David Griggs urged business leaders to share their feedback through a brief survey designed to inform the potential addition of new routes and service expansions.
“Recognizing Bradley International’s importance to our regional economy, your input will directly influence future air travel improvements, including the possibility of establishing direct flights to strategic locations like London’s Heathrow,” Griggs said.
Aer Lingus resumed daily nonstop service between Bradley and Dublin last March following a near three-year hiatus caused by the pandemic.
Dillon believes the London and Dublin routes can successfully co-exist, particularly given the range of connection options.
“As we look to develop additional transatlantic service, we are committed to make sure Aer Lingus service is healthy,” he said.
“We don’t want to do anything that would jeopardize Aer Lingus service. We’ve made a significant investment in Aer Lingus, and we want to make sure that service is healthy.”

Hi
My wife and I are retired and love to travel INTERNATIONALLY.
We think it would be a great idea if KBDL-Hartford Bradley would
enhance more international flights.
Regards
RB
Me and my wife live in Italy and would appreciate a lot to have the possibility to come to your wonderful state without pass through the caotic New York area. One or two flight a week from/to Rome will be a nice opportunity.
Best regards
FG
My husband, I and family, also travel twice a year to Turks and Caicos (PLS) and would love to see a direct route there, from our state airport, rather than having to drive to NYC.
How about Copa Airlines direct to Panama City, Panama out of Bradley?
I travel frequently to Rome thru out the year and would love to see a seasonal service there. So tired of driving to JFK or Logan for direct flights.
I would love to see Copa Airlines fly from Bradley to Panama City 100 %
Probably a low cost option such as Wizz/ Breeze may be the best bet (operating A321LR neo aircraft), but if it does launch it would probably be from Gatwick or Stansted not London Heathrow, the best option would be to get Jet Blue to do it, but as they have just pulled their flight from New York to LGW its obvious that the yields are not there.
A Major US carrier would need the connecting traffic to make a BDL route work.
