State Tax Returns, Payments Due July 15
The deadline for filing 2019 tax returns and making payments for the tax year is fast approaching.
The state Department of Revenues Services extended deadlines on most Connecticut tax returns until July 15 because of the coronavirus pandemic.
If you file and pay by July 15, there will be no penalties or interest, acting DRS Commissioner John Biello said.
He said it’s easy for taxpayers to file and pay online via the agency’s Taxpayer Service Center.
Biello suggests first completing your federal income tax return as the state’s return requires your federal adjusted gross income, then filing the state return electronically, designating the date and amount of money to be debited from your bank account.
The DRS also reminds taxpayers that estimated income tax payments for 2020 income tax liability that were due on April 15 and June 15 are also due July 15.
