DECD Announces $25M Supply Chain Grant

There is a new opportunity available for companies to strengthen local supply chains in Connecticut.
Gov. Ned Lamont and Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Daniel O’Keefe announced a Strategic Supply Chain Initiative Thursday at AdvanceCT.
The $25 million state grant program is intended to help supply chain companies in core industries expand and increase production capacity and encourage suppliers to bring operations to Connecticut.
“This is a time of change and uncertainty for businesses that could be impacted by the incoming administration’s new trade policies,” O’Keefe said.
“This program aims to fortify supply chains in sectors vital to our state’s economic future, to ensure they are fully capitalizing on growth and onshoring opportunities in the near term.”
“It’s encouraging to see this incentive available to companies operating in the state and looking to expand,” CBIA president and CEO Chris DiPentima said.
“This will help Connecticut companies think about how they can stabilize their supply chain and bring production in-house or bring important suppliers to Connecticut.”
Grant Eligibility
Companies in the supply chain can apply for grants ranging from $500,000 to $5 million for projects that increase production capacity.
Eligible fund uses include machinery and equipment purchases, robotics and technology, infrastructure improvements, product and process investments, research and development activities, and new operations in support of core industries.
“This will help Connecticut companies think about how they can stabilize their supply chain and bring production in-house.”

Companies will be required to provide at least a 50% match unless they are in distressed municipalities, where a minimum 10% match is required.
Priority consideration will be given to supply chain companies in core industries including manufacturing, semiconductors, insurtech and fintech, biomedical instruments and life sciences, clean energy, and information technology, including artificial intelligence and quantum computing.
Funding for the program comes from the Manufacturing Assistance Act.
