Pratt & Whitney Opens Earth Day Celebration to Public
Conducting business in a sustainable, environmentally friendly way is a hallmark of Pratt & Whitney’s operations.
That’s one reason Pratt celebrates Earth Day with a day-long event that’s open to the public and features over 60 eco-friendly vendors.
The annual Earth Day celebration is set for April 23 from 10 am to 4 pm at the Pratt & Whitney Hangar Museum in East Hartford.
The event includes earth friendly giveaways and door prizes.
Among the vendors scheduled to attend is the on-shore volunteer crew of Sea Shepherd New England, an international nonprofit marine wildlife conservation organization whose mission is to end the destruction of habitat and slaughter of wildlife in the world’s oceans.
Charitable Donations
The event will also allow you to shred personal documents and recycle old electronics.
Lunch will be available from 11 am to 1 pm.
Donations are also being accepted of clothing, small household items, books, movies, and old cell phones for the Vietnam Veterans of America.
Donations of food, blankets, toiletries, and baby items are being collected for the East Hartford Women’s Shelter, as well as cat and dog food, cat litter, pet bedding, blankets, and leashes for local animal shelters.
Pratt, in a statement, said it works “to provide opportunities for employees to lead lifestyles that support the adoption of habits that contribute to being resourceful stewards of our planet.”
