Next Wednesday, March 25, is Connecticut Business Day and hundreds of Connecticut job creators will meet and hear from state lawmakers on such issues as state taxes, labor and employment proposals, transportation, and many others.
Hanging in the legislative balance this year is whether Connecticut lawmakers will make the right decisions to get the state back on track. With the state’s economy strengthening, now is not the time to put the brakes on job growth.
Leaders' Talk
The morning program starts at 8:05 with brief opening remarks followed by a roundtable talk between business leaders and state legislative leaders sizing up the midpoint of the 2015 session.
What proposals can help Connecticut move up in national rankings? What are problematic bills that could keep us stalled?
Major Issues
After the leaders’ roundtable, there will be major issues breakouts from 9:10-10:10 am with legislators and business leaders on:
- State Taxes (Room 1A)
- Transportation (Room 1B)
- Labor & Employment Law (Room 2D)
Regional Breakouts
Then, participants will head to eight regional breakouts to meet with the local state legislators, from 10:15-11:15 am:
- Fairfield County: Room 1A
- New Haven County: Room 1A
- Tolland County: Room 1B
- Windham County: Room 1B
- Middlesex County: Room 1E
