Webster Bank is partnering with a workforce development organization to support returning citizens and their families in Bridgeport.

Bank leaders and Career Resources Inc. announced the creation of The Bridge on Main initiative Feb. 14.

The Bridge on Main will serve as a resource center for people and families whose lives were impacted by incarceration, with a physical location in downtown Bridgeport.

“The Bridge on Main will increase access, inclusion, and opportunity in the Bridgeport area,” Webster Bank chief corporate responsibility officer Marissa Weidner said.

The initiative is one part of Webster’s commitment to supporting community development efforts in the area.

The Bridge on Main is set to officially launch in 2024.
