CBIA’s annual Safety & Health Conference, the largest of its kind in the state, is dedicated to emphasizing the safety of workers and steps employers can take to ensure those workers arrive home healthy after each shift.

The 2019 Safety & Health Conference featured a range of topics, including addiction in the workplace, fire protection standards for your in-house electrician, implementing a silica safety program, preventing falls, transport fleet safety, using technology and Lean principles, and the safe use of mobile elevated platforms, to name a few.

Among the event’s highlights were an address from Jeff Erskine, deputy regional administrator, Region 1, for OSHA and the U.S. Department of Labor, and a panel discussion on the impact of workplace addiction on fitness for duty.

The 2020 Safety and Health Conference is slated for next May and CBIA wants input from member companies on issues they want to explore at the event.

If you have topics or suggestions that you think should be discussed at the 2020 conference, please contact CBIA’s Phillip Montgomery (860.244.1982).
