CEOs Who Get Safety
The National Safety Council (NSC) has announced the 2011 CEOs Who “Get It,” its annual recognition of business leaders who demonstrate world-class safety at all levels of their organizations.
This year’s roster of 10 individuals represents national and international organizations of all sizes from a wide variety of industries. According to NSC, those recognized engage all employees in safety and encourage them to apply what they have learned beyond the workplace. These leaders also have safety management systems in place to help continually reduce risks and established performance measures to monitor progress.
Creating a culture of safety in any organization requires commitment and dedication, says NSC. These CEOs have placed safety as a core value at all levels. They understand safety is everyone’s responsibility and empower their employees to engage in the process.
