Employers have a new resource to help manage and reduce the risk of airborne infectious diseases.

The American Industrial Hygiene Association recently issued an e-book employers can use to address hazards surrounding infections like COVID-19, the flu or respiratory syncytial virus or RSV infections.

AIHA is an association for scientists and professionals committed to preserving and ensuring occupational and environmental health and safety in the workplace and community.

It developed an e-book, Healthier Workplaces and Schools, with experts who have the background, training, and experience in industrial hygiene and occupational and environmental health and safety.

Comprehensive Resource

AIHA designed the book to be a comprehensive resource to protect workers across all industry sectors.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has taught us that we cannot afford to be caught unprepared responding to future health risks that jeopardize worker health and our communities,” said AIHA CEO Lawrence Sloan.

The book’s chapters feature sections dedicated specifically to both employers and employees so each understands their responsibilities in creating a safe workplace.

“The more layers of protection that employers can implement, the more they can reduce their risk of infectious diseases.”

People can download the e-book for free and in both English and Spanish
