Max OSHA Penalties Increase (Again)

After a nearly 80% increase in maximum OSHA penalties imposed in August 2016, the agency is once again increasing it’s top fine amounts, only this time they’ll go up by just 1.6%—the inflation rate in October of last year.
Published on Jan. 18 in the Federal Register, the following increases apply to OSHA citations issued after Jan. 13, 2017, regardless of when an inspection was conducted:
