Nearly a decade of severe workplace injury reports is now public.

OSHA unveiled the agency’s Severe Injury Report dashboard Sept. 4. Agency officials believe the tool will allow the public to view trends related to workplace injuries.

The online tool includes information on severe injuries reported by employers covered under federal OSHA from Jan. 1, 2015 through Dec. 31, 2023.

More than half of states are covered under federal OSHA. Reported injuries in state plan states are not included in the data.

The online tool includes information on severe injuries reported by employers covered under federal OSHA from Jan. 1, 2015 through Dec. 31, 2023.

Currently, there are 88,234 severe injury reports within the data, resulting in 71,978 hospitalizations.

The database itself allows a user to view and download details about incidents. It also allows someone to search for incident data by year, industry, state, business name, NAICS code, event or exposure, and even body part.

Downloadable data provides details about the injuries and a short narrative about the incident from the report.

The dashboard does not include reported deaths
