CONN-OSHA has scheduled the following safety training events for September 2018:
The Control of Hazardous Energy (Lockout/Tagout)—Sept. 13 from 10 a.m. to noon. This two-hour course will help to satisfy the requirements for training as detailed in the OSHA regulation for those who are working in areas where lockout programs are in place or whose job requires them to actually perform the lockout and isolation of energy sources. Pre-registration is required; contact catherine.zinsser@ct.gov.
Breakfast Roundtable Discussion Group Meeting—Sept. 18 from 8:15 to 9:45 a.m. The focus topic is: OSHA’s Occupational Exposure to Hazardous Chemicals in Laboratories Standard (29 CFR 1910.1450), presented by Teresa D’Amelio and Dr. Ken Roy. The laboratory standard covers laboratories where chemical manipulation generally involves small amounts of a limited variety of chemicals. This standard applies to all hazardous chemicals meeting the definition of “laboratory use” and having the potential for worker exposure.
OSHA Recordkeeping—Sept. 27 from 9 a.m. to noon. This interactive session will address the rules and ensure confidence that you have properly recorded and reported occupational injuries and illnesses. Topics include how to fill out the OSHA 300 Log of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses and the new electronic reporting requirements. Pre-registration is required; contact catherine.zinsser@ct.gov.

Register today for CBIA’s New OSHA Silica & Beryllium Standards workshop, Sept. 12, 2018, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the CBIA Conference Center in Hartford. And don’t miss the OSHA 10-Hour for General Industry Outreach program, October 16–17, also at the CBIA Conference Center in Hartford.
