DOT Hosts Strategic Planning Open Houses
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is hosting a series of open houses in January supporting the development of the agency’s new Statewide Active Transportation Plan.
The open houses are one of the elements in the plan’s first development phase, which includes identifying existing active transportation conditions and assessing current programs.
Phase 2 is scheduled for the summer and fall of 2025 and includes development of proposed active infrastructure improvements and prioritization of projects, potential funding sources, and program and policy recommendations.
The final phase will run from winter 2025 to the following spring, and features development of the draft and final plan, including performance metrics.
Open House Schedule
- Stamford—1.7.25, 6-8 pm: Stamford Government Center (4th floor cafe)
- Bridgeport—1.8.25, 6-8 pm: Margaret Morton Government Center (Conference rooms A, B, C)
- New Haven—1.9.25, 5:30-7:30 pm: Ives Library (Community Program Room)
- Hartford—1.21.25, 6-8 pm: Hartford Public Library (Center for Contemporary Culture)
- Norwich—1.22.25, 6-8 pm: Norwich City Hall (Room 335)
- Torrington—1.23.25, 6-8 pm: Torrington City Hall (Auditorium)
DOT is also planning pop-up events and focus groups as part of the planning development process.
