Now in its eighth year, Small Business Saturday has become a major economic driver for smaller companies around the country.
Last year’s Small Business Saturday saw record participation from consumers and businesses, with 112 million shoppers and diners taking part—a 13% increase over 2015.
Those consumers spent over $15 billion at Main Street stores and restaurants, providing a huge holiday season boost for the country’s small businesses.
Small Business Saturday brings much-needed attention to a key driver of the state and national economies.
Sponsored by the National Federation of Independent Businesses and American Express, this year’s event is Nov. 25, and small businesses are gearing up to promote their products and services and drive sales.
The U.S. Small Business Administration has a wealth of Small Business Saturday resources for businesses, and American Express provides customizable marketing materials.
And consumers can find participating small businesses using American Express’ interactive map.
