Thomaston Bank employees have taken giving to a new level this holiday season, contributing more than $40,000 to the United Way.

The nonprofit organization provides basic human needs, financial stability, and education to people across the state.

“Thomaston Savings Bank is proud to be a community partner of our local United Way organizations,” said bank president and CEO Stephen Lewis.

“Their annual campaign encourages employees to give back to the organizations that make our community a great place to live.”

Employees increased donations by almost $10,000 over last year.

Employees from the bank’s various branches increased their donations by almost $10,000 over last year.

The campaign helps both a notable cause, and connects employees to the communities where they live and work.

“Historically employees have increased the bank’s pledge total year after year,” said assistant vice president and community outreach officer Cheryl Lindstrom.

“I am especially proud of our fundraising this year. It speaks to who we are as a group and lends itself to what we stand for as a company.”

Employees who contributed to the campaign had the opportunity to participate in department lunches, receive additional paid time off days, enjoy a day in the life of Lewis, and qualify for other prizes.
