Thomaston Savings Bank Awards Grants for Hartford County

Fifty-one nonprofit organizations and municipalities in Hartford County are receiving grants from Thomaston Savings Bank.
The grants are part of Phase I of the Thomaston Savings Bank Foundation’s annual Grant Cycle.
In total, the bank awarded $147,870 in grants to organizations in Bristol, Farmington, Unionville, and New Britain.
The foundation said the goal of the grant program is to respond to the needs of communities across the state and help improve the quality of life for residents.
Community Needs
The grants focus on organizations that support arts and culture, community development, education and youth services, health and human services, and public safety.
Since its inception in 1997, the Foundation has awarded nearly $11 million in grant funding.

“We couldn’t do it without them!” said Brian’s Angels Homeless Outreach, Inc. executive director Pat Stebbins.
“This funding will be used to obtain and repair used bicycles, so clients have the means of transportation to work or to find work.”

Thomaston Savings Bank Foundation’s annual grant cycle has three phases, each focusing on a different area of the state.
Applications are open now for Phase II focusing on Litchfield County.
Nonprofits and government agencies in Bethlehem, Harwinton, Plymouth, Terryville, Thomaston, Torrington, Watertown, and Oakville can submit applications before the July 31 deadline.
