Fans Name Travelers Championship Best PGA Tour Event

The Travelers Championship is the PGA Tour’s best event according to golf fans, besting a field that included The Masters, U.S. Open, and Ryder Cup.

Played annually at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, the Travelers topped Newsweek magazine’s Fans’ Choice Award as the tour’s best tournament.

Fans voted on a number of tournaments selected by Newsweek, with the results announced Sept. 2.

The Masters finished second in fan voting, with the U.S. Open ranked sixth and the Ryder Cup in eighth place.

“This is wonderful recognition for the tournament, which has established itself as one of the best weeks in golf,” said Travelers executive vice president and chief administrative officer Andy Bessette.

“The support we receive from our fans is immeasurable, whether they volunteer, watch at home, engage with our online content or fill the amphitheater on 18.

“Our fans are an integral part in making our event stand out. We appreciate their support in this contest and helping the tournament generate millions of dollars for hundreds of local charities.”

The 2025 Travelers Championship distributed over $4 million to more than 200 charities, a tournament record.
