Behind the Business: GHDSi’s Mark Baxter
When Meriden native Mark Baxter started with Global Help Desk Services Inc., he thought he would be an intern for a few months.
It turns out, his talent and passion would keep him at the Rocky Hill information technology service company a little longer.
“When I was little, I always loved computers so that was set in concrete,” Baxter said.
After graduating high school, Baxter enrolled in the information technology networking program at Middlesex Community College.
There an advisor introduced him to Global Help Desk Services.
Making his way from an entry level position to a promotion as the IT specialist, Baxter said the company is investing in him and providing him opportunities.
“Everybody here is friendly, everybody is a team member,” he said. “We all work together.”
A lifelong Connecticut resident, he’d like to stay in the state. He does however, worry about the rising costs of energy, food, and transportation.
