The state is collaborating with a technology company and employers on a program showing Connecticut-based college students why their should launch their careers and post-graduation lives here.

The Governor’s Workforce Council and the economic development agency AdvanceCT partnered with UpperCampus, a career readiness technology platform, on an initial pilot program targeting the Hartford region.

CBIA member companies Lego Systems, Stanley Black & Decker, and Travelers are among the employers participating in the CampusCT pilot that launches this fall.

Participating employers showcase their company and career opportunities to 55,000 students across the Hartford region’s 15 colleges and universities through the program’s mobile app.

The app features a job and internship board highlighting career opportunities and spotlights participating employers’ workplace culture, business lines and innovations, and employee resource groups and other talent growth supports.

‘Promote Connecticut’

CampusCT will also host several live events, in conjunction with employers, to complement the app and allow students to experience the region’s personal and professional offerings.

“We educate Connecticut college students at our renowned, world class institutions, yet we rank 41st nationally in retaining them,” AdvanceCT officials said.

“We know we can do better and now is the time to promote Connecticut as a place to launch.”

AdvanceCT expects to expand the program to New Haven and Stamford in 2022, although employers from around the state can participate in the fall pilot.

Employers interested in participating in the CampusCT program should email campusct@advancect.org for more information.
