With the rise in ransomware attacks and data breaches, Connecticut has taken action with a new law designed to help small businesses better protect themselves against cyberattacks.

The law, which took effect Oct. 1, 2021, prevents companies that adopt recognized cybersecurity standards from being held liable for damages in the event of a data breach.
