CBIA’s Education & Workforce Partnership is the lead agency for one of just five state teams chosen nationwide to participate in the National Skills Coalition Work-Based Learning Academy.

The academy supports statewide efforts to coordinate work-based learning initiatives such as apprenticeships and internships for low-income communities in Connecticut.

In addition to CBIA, the CTWBL team is represented by Capital Workforce Partners, the Connecticut Department of Labor, the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities, and the Connecticut Technical and Career Education System.

These partners have collaborated on other workforce development efforts, including through the development of an apprenticeship grant from the U.S. Department of Labor, and the Campaign for a Working CT.

The CTWBL team advocates for policies that support coordinated, industry-driven manufacturing workforce programs, as well as efforts that strengthen relationships between employers and education institutions.
