Don't overlook consultants. Some are pricier than others, but they can be full-service supermarkets for getting what you need. Global Procurement Group, globalpg.com, has a free online checklist. Uncle Sam has lots of resources. Commerce Dept's Commercial Svc. offers the usatrade.gov Web site with "secrets of exporting" webcasts plus guides on specific markets. The service has specialized programs to hook up buyers and sellers, often for fees totaling less than $500. LightStream Technologies, a start-up in Reston, Va., used the service to help it find 50 overseas markets for its water-disinfecting systems. Also, Commerce's export.gov.
