Ferrucci Family Donates $1M to Connecticut Children’s

Connecticut Children’s has received a $1 million gift from Frank Ferrucci and the Ferrucci family to support the expansion of facilities.

The donation will support Connecticut Children’s eight-story clinical tower, the largest expansion in the health system’s history.

In recognition of the gift, the organization is naming a new wellness space in the tower Ferrucci Family Wellness Room.

Opened in December 2025, the $326 million facility features private NICU rooms, an expanded Fetal Care Center, sensory-friendly design elements, and outdoor wellness spaces for patients, families, and caregivers.

The Ferrucci Family Wellness Room will be located on the tower’s street level.

The space is intended to support nursing mothers, parents managing medical needs such as glucose monitoring or medication, and staff seeking a quiet place to recharge during the workday.

Lasting Partnership

“We are proud to help create a space that offers comfort and support to patients, families, and the Connecticut Children’s team members who give so much of themselves every day,” said F+F Mechanical Enterprises president Frank Ferrucci.

“Wellness is central to our vision for the new clinical tower, and the Ferrucci Family Wellness Room is a fitting reflection of their longstanding passion for mental health, their care for our community, and their belief in supporting the whole person,” said Connecticut Children’s president and CEO Shannon Sullivan.

North Haven-based F+F Mechanical is a longtime supporter of Connecticut Children’s, with Ferrucci serving on the corporate board of directors.

The company also sponsors both the hospital’s annual Superhero Sunday event and the Connecticut Children’s Foundation Gala.

F+F employees make up the largest corporate team participating in Superhero Sunday’s 5K fundraising race.

“Connecticut Children’s holds a special place for our family and for F+F Mechanical,” said Ferrucci.

“We believe in the importance of mental health and emotional well-being, especially in places where people are carrying worry, responsibility, and stress.”

This is the second major recent donation for Connecticut Children’s.

In June, Connecticut Children’s Foundation board member Joyce Lagnese also made a $1 million gift to the organization.
