FIRST Robotics: Show Your Support

The next generation of Connecticut workers are immersing themselves in STEM education by designing, building, and programming robots to compete in challenges.
For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology, most commonly known as FIRST, is a global nonprofit organization with a suite of robotics programs for students in grades pre-K through 12.
The programs are not only helping students build self-confidence, but equipping them with collaboration and problem-solving skills.
Research shows FIRST has a lasting impact on STEM learning and interest.
FIRST teams are supported by a network of mentors, volunteers, sponsors, educators, parents, and alumni.
Get Involved
There are several ways Connecticut manufacturers can get involved by supporting the program financially or volunteering with the competition.
Mentor: Students can benefit from working closely with experienced professions in a variety of areas including electrical, mechanical, pneumatics, CAD, programming, sensors, app design, business writing, and digital design.
Volunteer: FIRST events are run and staffed by volunteers. There are also opportunities for professionals to get involved in judging competitions.
Sponsor: Student teams conduct various fundraising activities to support the production of new robots and to allow all students to attend the competitions each season.
Businesses can donate materials, tools, and other hardware to build a robot or could offer space for teams to meet, build, and/or practice.
Connect and Inspire: Robotics teams can benefit from business tours and informational sessions to learn about technology and future career opportunities.
Businesses also have the opportunity to set up exhibit tables at events to showcase opportunities within Connecticut.
